Man, 23, shot and killed in Brooklyn building lobby

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 23-year-old man was shot and killed in the lobby of a Brooklyn building on Friday evening, and police are searching for the gunman.

Police responded to 132 Herkimer St., located near Nostrand Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, at about 6:25 p.m. and found Kyle Smith unconscious and unresponsive.

The victim had multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body, authorities said. Medics transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, but he could not be saved.

Smith lived in a building on Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights, just under a mile away from where he was killed, police said.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
