NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 27-year-old man died after his car struck a pole, overturned and caught fire—reportedly as he was drag racing in Queens early Sunday morning.
Sources told the Daily News that the man was drag racing in a black Infiniti sedan around 4 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a pole near 79th Street and S. Conduit Avenue in Lindenwood, west of Kennedy Airport.

The driver was ejected from the Infiniti, which then burst into flames, according to the report.
Citizen App video shows emergency personnel responding to the crash before daybreak Sunday. Firefighters can be seen surrounding the overturned sedan in a grassy area near the roadway.
The victim was transported to Jamaica Hospital but did not survive, according to police.
