NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 32-year-old man died after he was stabbed on Staten Island on Wednesday afternoon, and police are hunting for the assailant.

The stabbing happened at about 4:42 p.m. near the intersection of Bay and Wave streets in Tompkinsville, police said.

The victim was stabbed in the chest with an unknown object, and was taken to Richmond County Medical Center in critical condition and later died.

He was identified by the NYPD as Desuan Baker-Dunning, a Brooklyn resident.

Police are searching for a suspect who they said fled the scene in a car.

The circumstances surrounding the stabbing were not immediately clear, but sources told 1010 WINS that it appeared to be the result of a domestic dispute.

There have been no arrests and an investigation is ongoing.
