NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after a 34-year-old man was pistol-whipped by a group during a carjacking in Brooklyn early Friday, police said.

Just before 3 a.m., a group of men approached the victim while he was standing outside of his car on Blake Avenue near Elton Street in East New York, officials said.

According to officials, one of the men pulled a firearm and struck him over the head with it, causing him to fall onto the sidewalk.

The suspects then took the man's keys and drove off with his car - a black 2020 four-door Honda with New Jersey plates, the NYPD said.

Responding officers discovered the victim laying on the ground.

EMS rushed him to Brookdale University Medical Center where he was treated for a minor injury.

There have been no arrests made and an investigation is ongoing.
