NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man was stabbed to death at the main subway terminal in Coney Island on Tuesday night, police said as they searched for his killer.
NYPD officers responding to a 911 call around 11:20 p.m. came across the 54-year-old victim bleeding badly from a stab wound to the back on the N platform at the Coney Island–Stillwell Avenue station.
EMS transported him to NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.
Police believe the victim and his attacker were in some sort of confrontation when he was stabbed with a knife on the platform next to a stationary N train.
The stabber was a bald man in his 30s, wearing a green shirt and aqua shorts, according to sources. He was last seen running towards Stillwell Avenue.
Police from the 60th Precinct fanned out across the neighborhood Wednesday to search for the suspect as detectives combed through surveillance video.
