NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 62-year-old man was fatally shot as he sat on a Bronx park bench Sunday afternoon in what authorities believe was an attempted robbery, police said Monday.
The victim, identified as Robert Brown, was found shot at 3 p.m. inside the Aqueduct Walk, near West Fordham Road in the Fordham Manor section, according to police.
Brown suffered a gunshot wound to his head and was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting, which happened about a block away from Brown's home, appears to have happened during a robbery attempt, police said.

No arrests had been reported as of Monday. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
