
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An off-duty conductor was slashed in the face on a subway train in Brooklyn on Wednesday night, according to a public transit union and police.
The 62-year-old man was aboard a J-line train in Cypress Hills when he was attacked by another man shortly before 11:30 p.m., police told PIX11.
The victim was slashed on the left side of his face, according to police, who said he was taken to an area hospital.
TWU Local 100 told 1010 WINS that the victim is a subway conductor who was off-duty at the time.
The union said the conductor had two emergency surgeries at Jamaica Hospital.
Police are searching for the suspect, who got off the train at the Cypress Hills station.
