Man, 64, shoots neighbor with crossbow outside Brooklyn home: cops

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 64-year-old man is accused of shooting his neighbor with a crossbow in Brooklyn early Wednesday, authorities said as they continue to investigate.

According to officials, around 4:30 a.m., Joseph English allegedly approached the 54-year-old victim outside of their building located at 67 Hanson Pl. in Fort Greene and threatened him before firing an arrow at him.

The victim was struck in the left hip. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

English was taken into custody and charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

A motive for the bizarre incident wasn't immediately known. While the men are neighbors, it wasn't clear if they knew each other or had fought in the past.One neighbor said it appeared the suspect had "a real bad case of the crazies."
