NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A 65-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck trying to cross the Bronx River Parkway early Tuesday, police said.
According to officials, at around 5:30 a.m., the victim was traveling on foot on the northbound lanes of the roadway at Allerton Avenue when he was struck by a driver.
The man, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and no immediate charges were filed.
An investigation is ongoing.
