NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 66-year-old man died after a fire tore through an apartment building in Brooklyn Tuesday morning, the NYPD said.
The fire broke out on the 12th floor of a building on Ocean Parkway, near Nixon Court, in Sheepshead Bay around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, police said.
Firefighters working to extinguish the blaze found a 66-year-old man unconscious inside the building, the NYPD said.
He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His name wasn't immediately released.
The Medical Examiner will determine how he died, the NYPD said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
