NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 66-year-old man is dead after he was struck in a hit-and-run crash when he fell onto a Brooklyn street he was crossing on Saturday night, authorities said.
The Sunset Park man, Jose Hernandez, tripped and fell into the street while trying to cross 4th Avenue between 58th Street and 59th Street, police said.
After falling into the street, a driver in a Nissan Altima fatally struck him and then kept driving, according to officials.
Hernandez was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn by emergency responders where he was pronounced dead.
Cops were later able to find the 54-year-old driver of the Nissan but have not charged him with anything as of yet.
The incident is still being investigated.
