VIDEO: Man, 74, choked, robbed on East Harlem street: police

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Police are searching for a man who violently attacked and robbed a 74-year-old man on an East Harlem street last week.

The victim was at the intersection of East 118th Street and Third Avenue around 10:20 a.m. Tuesday when he was approached from behind by an unknown individual, police said.


It remains unclear if any words were exchanged, but police said the attacker proceeded to choke the victim from behind before throwing him to the ground.

While the victim was on the ground, the attacker forcibly removed his wallet, which contained $300 in cash. He then fled the scene on foot.

The victim was transported to Metropolitan Hospital in stable condition.
