NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released video surveillance Wednesday of a man wanted in a brutal, unprovoked assault against an 76-year-old man waiting at a Bronx bus stop earlier this week.

It happened at approximately 12:26 p.m. on Monday, in front of 3855 Third Ave. in Claremont. According to police, the victim was waiting at a bus stop when he was approached from behind by the suspect who punched him in the face.

The force of the blow caused the victim to collapse to the ground, where he became unconscious, officials said.

EMS rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The attacker fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV, traveling westbound on Claremont Parkway to parts unknown.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, gray sweatpants, and a white hat.
