NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man died on Tuesday, just hours after firefighters rescued him from a house fire, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
The fire occurred around 7 p.m. on Monday at a residence on Crescent Cove Drive in Seaford. Police said officers arrived to find the second floor of the home engulfed in flames.
The Seaford Fire Department quickly responded and extinguished the fire.
The 85-year-old resident was removed from the home and transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.
He was pronounced dead at 12:01 a.m. the following day.
No other injuries were reported.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson/Bomb Squad detectives responded to the scene to investigate.
