NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two thieves pretending to be deliverymen forced their way into an 88-year-old man’s Bronx apartment, where they pistol-whipped him and tied him up, police said Thursday.
The NYPD released images of the suspects, who were last seen fleeing in a black 2018 Honda HR-V after the home invasion in Mott Haven on Sunday, Jan. 19.
The victim was inside his apartment at 225 Willis Ave. around 7:20 p.m. when the duo knocked on his door and said they were delivering an envelope.
But when the victim opened his door, they burst inside and struck him over the head with a firearm, police said.
They then threw him onto a bed and tied him up, according to cops.

As he was restrained, they stole cash, a cellphone and a wallet, police said.
The victim suffered a large laceration to his head and was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he required stitches.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
