NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was killed, and a woman wounded, in a stabbing in Hell’s Kitchen on Wednesday afternoon.
The two victims were stabbed inside 440 West 47th St. around 2:45 p.m., police said.
Officers responding to a 911 call found the male victim, 26, with a stab wound to the waist. He died at Mount Sinai Morningside.
He was later identified as John Carlos Mesa, who police said was homeless.
The 35-year-old female victim was also stabbed in the back and neck. She was hospitalized in stable condition.
It wasn’t immediately clear what led up to the stabbing, but police said they had taken a person of interest into custody.
