NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was arrested on Sunday after four men were stabbed, one of them fatally, in a knife fight at an illegal gambling den in Brooklyn, police said Monday.
After an investigation, officials arrested 45-year-old William Smith, 45, of Brooklyn, at 6:45 p.m. on February 28.
Smith faces charges including murder, robbery, and assault.
On February 26, at approximately 9:30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of an assault in the vicinity of 57 Street and 7 Avenue, in Sunset Park's Chinatown, known as Little Fuzhou, and discovered three men were on the sidewalk of what appeared to be an illegal gambling den fronted by a Chinese restaurant, according to police.
Authorities believe the suspects went in to rob the gamblers, but in the end, four people were stabbed including, 46-year-old man Yong Zheng of Manhattan..
Zheng was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Police on Monday said their investigation remains ongoing.
On Friday, the NYPD said they were searching for four to five men in connection with the stabbings.
