NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 21-year-old man was arrested for beating a 75-year-old woman outside the Herald Square Macy’s in a seemingly random attack last month, according to police.
Anthony Kwamel allegedly started yelling at the woman unprovoked as she was crossing the street at the intersection of Avenue of the Americas and West 34th Street on June 10 around 1:13 p.m.
He proceeded to push her to the ground before kicking her multiple times and fleeing on foot, officials said.
EMS took the woman to Mount Sinai West in stable condition, where she was treated for minor injuries.
Police cuffed Kwamel around 4 p.m. Monday and charged him with assault.
