NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Manhattan man was arrested after he allegedly beat and robbed another man inside a Midtown subway station on Sunday, the NYPD said.

Ronald Bailey, 52, of Hell's Kitchen, was arrested and charged with robbery on Wednesday morning, police said.

The NYPD said a 50-year-old man was standing in front of a token booth near the northbound 2 and 3 train subway platform in Penn Station around 3:20 p.m. on Sunday when Bailey approached him from behind and started punching and kicking him.

Bailey fled the subway station with the man's cell phone and wallet, which contained $700 in cash, police said.

The 50-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for cuts and bruises to his face, the NYPD said.

Bailey's attorney information wasn't immediately available Wednesday.
