NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A Bronx man was arrested Wednesday in the East Harlem rape of a 10-year-old girl who he allegedly met online, police said.
Drequan Drayton-Howard, 23, was arrested shortly before 8:30 a.m., about a week after the NYPD released images of a suspect in the case.
He was charged with rape, sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police allege he connected with the girl on a social media app and then met her in person on the night of Saturday, Jan. 6, in the area of East 122nd Street and Third Avenue.
At some point during that encounter, he raped her, police said.
She was taken by EMS to an area hospital for evaluation and listed in stable condition.
