NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Bronx man was arrested Wednesday night, hours after he allegedly stabbed another man to death at a subway station in Queens, police said.
The victim, Mesias Lojano, 59, was stabbed at the Woodhaven Boulevard station in Woodhaven around 5:20 p.m. after an argument on a J train spilled out onto the platform, police said.
Lojano was stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife and pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
Following a manhunt, NYPD officers tracked down the suspect, Jyrell Thomas, 25, to a nearby rooftop, where he was taken into custody.
Police said Thomas is emotionally disturbed and was undergoing a psychological evaluation. He faces charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
A witness who spoke with ABC 7 described hearing the suspect express remorse after the attack. "He was saying he was sorry, that he didn't want to do that," the witness said.
It's unclear what the two men were arguing about at the time. The investigation is ongoing.
