NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – An attacker smashed a bottle over a man's face and then used a shard from the broken bottle to stab him in the head at a sports bar on Staten Island this week, police said.
The NYPD released images Wednesday of the suspect as they continue to search for him in the attack early Monday morning.
The 50-year-old victim was inside the sports bar at 297 Port Richmond Ave. in Port Richmond just after midnight when he was viciously assaulted.
The events leading up to the attack are unclear, but police said the suspect walked up and struck the victim in the face with a glass bottle, breaking his nose.
He then used the broken bottle to stab him in the head, according to cops.
The suspect left the bar and was last seen on Port Richmond Avenue.
The victim was transported to a hospital to be treated for the broken nose and multiple lacerations to his face and head. He was in stable condition.
