NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was beaten to death, apparently with a baseball bat, in a suspected road rage attack on the Belt Parkway in Queens on Sunday morning, sources said.
The 47-year-old victim was transported with severe head trauma to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where was ultimately pronounced dead. A 39-year-old man with arm injuries was treated at the scene.
According to sources, the injuries appear to be from a road rage fight over a car crash on the Belt Parkway at Exit 21B to Farmers Boulevard in Springfield Gardens.
The attacker appears to have struck the victim over the head with a bat during the confrontation around 1:20 a.m., sources said.
Police were searching for a Honda Civic whose driver fled eastbound on the Belt Parkway.
No arrests had been reported as of Monday.
The attack came just a few days after a man was attacked with a meat cleaver during a road rage fight in College Point, Queens, on Thursday morning. That victim was hospitalized in stable condition. No arrests were immediately reported.
