NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man was stabbed in the shoulder and bitten in the head during a dispute on a Manhattan-bound L train in Brooklyn on Friday afternoon, and police are searching for the assailant.

At around 3:00 p.m., officers responded to reports of a stabbing on the train as it arrived at the Graham Avenue subway station in Williamsburg.

The 58-year-old victim and the suspect had gotten into an argument before the situation escalated. The suspect stabbed the victim in the shoulder and then bit him in the head before fleeing the scene, according to the NYPD.

The victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals / Bellevue for treatment of a puncture wound to his left shoulder and a head laceration. He remains in stable condition.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect Saturday night to aid their investigation. The images show him wearing a black "Hellstar Tour" hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black sneakers and carrying a white and black duffle bag.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

After the attack, the MTA suspended L train service between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues and Lorimer Street so the NYPD could conduct its investigation at Graham Avenue.
