NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials charged a man who allegedly shot a female construction worker on her lunch break in the Bronx earlier this week, police said Friday morning.
Authorities responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress at City Island Avenue and City Island Road at around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14.
Upon arrival, responding officers encountered an unconscious and unresponsive 52-year-old Lizbeth Mass with multiple gunshot wounds to the body and a conscious 66-year-old Jose Everaldo Reyes with trauma to the body.
EMS transported both individuals to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi where Mass was pronounced dead.
Everaldo Reyes allegedly shot Mass multiple times and allegedly used a gun stolen from a housing cop who retired in 1988, police sources told the New York Post.
His charges include murder 2, manslaughter, criminal use of a firearm, and criminal possession of a weapon.
