Man charged with attacking Asian-American woman arrested for vandalizing NYPD car: report

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man who allegedly attacked an Asian-American woman as she was heading to a rally protesting anti-Asian hate crimes has now been accused of vandalizing an NYPD car in Queens, according to a report.

Erick Deoliveira, 27, who is homeless, was arrested and charged with hate-crime assault after he allegedly attacked a 37-year-old Asian-American woman on Astor Place in lower Manhattan last month.

On Friday, Deoliveira — who was released after his arrest — was cuffed again after he allegedly smashed the window of an NYPD vehicle outside the 109th Precinct in Flushing, the New York Post reported.

Deoliveira was out on supervised release following his arrest in connection with the March 21 attack, the outlet reported.

His attorney information wasn't immediately available Monday.
