NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was arrested in the murder of a 63-year-old woman whose body was found in Central Park on Sunday morning.
Jonathan Robles, 36, was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the killing of the woman, who hasn’t been identified by the NYPD.
Her body was found around 9:45 a.m. Sunday as police responded to a 911 call about an unresponsive woman along East Drive, near East 74th Street.
Police said she had suffered trauma to the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The relationship, if any, between the victim and Robles, a resident of a transitional housing shelter in Hell's Kitchen, wasn’t immediately clear.
The victim is believed to have been living in the park at the time of her death, according to multiple reports.
