NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run in Chinatown on Wednesday morning, police said.
The victim was trying to cross Canal Street near Lafayette Street around 4:50 a.m. when he was hit by a dark-colored SUV whose driver didn't stay at the scene, according to police, who said the information was preliminary.
First responders found the victim lying on the roadway with traumatic injuries to his body.
He was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in critical condition and later died there.
No arrests had been reported Wednesday as the search for the driver continued.
