NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man was killed and a woman was critically injured when they crashed a U-Haul van into a subway support pillar in Brooklyn on Sunday night, police said.

The man and woman, both 54 years old, struck the pillar along an elevated stretch of the F line in Mapleton shortly before 8 p.m.

The collision left the U-Haul van smashed at McDonald Avenue and Bay Parkway, Citizen App video shows.

The victims were rushed to an area hospital, where the man was pronounced dead and the woman was in critical condition, police said.

The cause of the crash wasn't immediately known. Police are investigating.
