
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A shooting in the Bronx early Wednesday morning killed one man and left another with a graze wound, and police are searching for the gunman.
The shooting happened just after 5:20 a.m. outside 350 East 170th St. in Claremont, right near Claremont Park.
Police responded to 911 calls reporting the shooting and discovered 46-year-old Mario Fowler inside his home at 364 East 170th St., down the block from the crime scene.
Fowler suffered gunshot wounds to both legs. He was transported by EMS to Saint Barnabas Hospital, but he could not be saved.
Officers also discovered a 23-year-old man in front of 1420 Clay Ave., around the corner from the shooting site, with a graze wound to his chin.
EMS brought the man to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately clear, and there is not yet word on a suspect.
There have been no arrests and an investigation is ongoing.
