NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 57-year-old man died on Saturday five months after being found with spinal injuries at a Bronx subway station, police said.
Officers responded to a call about an injured man at the 170th Street subway station in the Highbridge neighborhood on July 17, at around 1:20 p.m.
When they arrived, they found the man conscious but suffering from serious spinal injuries. EMS transported him to BronxCare Health System for treatment.
The man remained hospitalized for five months but succumbed to his injuries on Dec. 14, according to police. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death.
Police have not made any arrests, and an investigation remains ongoing.
