Ex-DEA investigator dies in Brooklyn jail after child porn conviction: report

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An ex-Drug Enforcement Administration investigator who was found guilty of soliciting nude photos from an undercover agent he thought was a teenage girl died at a Brooklyn jail on Wednesday, according to a report.

Frederick Scheinin, 34, passed away at the Metropolitan Detention Center Wednesday morning, the Daily News reported, citing sources.

Scheinin’s cause of death wasn’t immediately released, according to the outlet.

A judge found Scheinin guilty of attempted production of child porn and attempted coercion of a minor to engage in sexual activity on Tuesday, the outlet reported.

He was reportedly being held in the jail’s solitary confinement area.
