NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man who died at a Bronx hospital Saturday morning reportedly flagged down an ambulance after he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
Police told the New York Post that a man believed to be in his 60s or 70s was transported with severe leg injuries to Jacobi Medical Center, where he later died.
The man was struck on Baychester Avenue, near E. 233rd Street, in the Edenwald section around 1:45 a.m., according to police.
WABC reported that the man had flagged down an ambulance in the area and told EMTs about his injuries before he was taken to the hospital.
Police were said to be scouring the area for evidence Saturday.
