NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 57-year-old man was fatally dragged by an A-line train at a Brooklyn subway station on Monday evening, according to police and sources.
Sources told 1010 WINS that it appears the man was exiting a southbound A train when a shopping bag he was holding got caught in the doors of the train as it was leaving the Utica Avenue station in Bedford–Stuyvesant around 5:50 p.m.
The train dragged him down the platform, and he was pulled between train cars and down onto the tracks, the sources said.
He suffered severe trauma and died at the scene, according to police, who later identified him as Yaw Boahene, of East Flatbush.
The MTA is investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
