NEW YORK (1010WINS) -- A man died after he was electrocuted by a third rail near the Times Square subway station Tuesday morning, officials said.
According to police, at approximately 5:45 a.m., the unidentified victim, believed to be in his 30s, was in the tunnel on the downtown 1, 2,3 train tracks when he came in contact with the electric rail and was killed.
Authorities are investigating how the man ended up on the tracks but don't believe he was the victim of a crime.
Service on the 1,2,3 trains were briefly disrupted Tuesday morning.
