Homicide investigation opened into Queens man's fatal fall down stairs

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Police announced on Tuesday that a homicide investigation was opened up after a man fatally fell down the stairs in his Queens home last month.

The victim, 60, fell down the stairs on Nov. 3 inside his home at 28-04 44th St. in Astoria at around 6:50 p.m., according to the police.

EMS arrived at the scene and the victim was taken to Mount Sinai Queens Hospital. He was pronounced dead four days later.

Police have not released the man’s identity.

On Sunday, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner deemed this incident a homicide, police said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
