Man, 47, fatally stabbed in the back at Brooklyn NYCHA building

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are investigating after a 47-year-old man was stabbed to death inside a Brooklyn NYCHA building early Saturday morning.

Donald Nesbit was found by officers with multiple stab wounds to the back inside 153 Marcus Garvey Blvd., one of NYCHA’s Roosevelt Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant, just before 5:45 a.m.

EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

Nesbit lives in one of NYCHA’s Coney Island Houses on Surf Avenue, over 10 miles from where he was killed.

There have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.

The homicide is the first in the 81st Precinct this year, according to the most recent NYPD data. There were four murders in the area in 2024.
