NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Authorities are investigating after a man was fatally stabbed on a Brooklyn street Monday afternoon.

Police responded to a 911 call of a male stabbed at the intersection of Hart Street and Knickerbocker Avenue in Bushwick at approximately 3 p.m. on March 22.

According to officials, the unidentified suspect stabbed 24-year-old Jose Perez Rivera several times in the chest and arm.

EMS rushed Rivera to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst Hospital by first responders, where he was pronounced dead, the NYPD said.

Police took a 21-year-old man into custody at the scene.

Officials early Tuesday said he had not been charged.

An investigation remains ongoing.
