NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police responded to an Irish pub in Queens on Saturday night and found two people with stab wounds to the neck in what sources said was an act of domestic violence that entailed a man fatally stabbing his girlfriend at her place of work before stabbing himself.
At about 6:34 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault in progress at The Ceili House, located at 69-56 Grand Ave. in Maspeth.
Upon arrival, police discovered a 41-year-old woman with a stab wound to the neck and a man with a stab wound to the back of the neck.
Sources told 1010 WINS/WCBS 880 that the man is in his early 40s, and he stabbed the woman—who was his girlfriend and an employee of the pub—before turning the weapon on himself.
Police later identified the female victim as Sarah Mcnally of Glendale, Queens.
It was not immediately clear if she was working at the time of the stabbing.
EMS rushed the couple to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst in critical condition, and the 41-year-old victim was pronounced dead. Release of her identity is pending proper family notification.
The man remains in critical condition.
There have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
