NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man slashed an MTA worker across the neck and fled into a Brooklyn subway tunnel on Monday night, police said.

The 64-year-old worker was on the tracks at the Nostrand Avenue 3 station in Crown Heights just after 10:30 p.m. when he was attacked.

The transit employee was trying to remove the man from the tracks when he was slashed across the neck, police said. The weapon used wasn’t clear.

EMS responded to a 911 call and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where he was in stable condition.

The attacker took off, vanishing into the subway tunnel, police said.
