NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man was found dead on a boat docked at Newtown Creek on Sunday afternoon, sources said, and investigators believe his body had been there for days before the discovery was made.
An acquaintance found the 52-year-old man unresponsive around 12:45 p.m. on the boat in the area of Greenpoint Avenue in Long Island City, according to sources. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His identity has been withheld pending the notification of his family.
Investigators believe he’d been dead on the boat for more than a week, given the level of decomposition, sources said.
The medical examiner is working to determine his cause of death, but it doesn't appear to be suspicious, according to sources.
