Man found dead in car parked in Sunnyside

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is investigating after a man was found dead in a car parked in Queens on Wednesday afternoon.

Just after 12:30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a person in need of medical attention on 36th Street between Skillman Avenue and 43rd Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found a 30-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive inside the vehicle. EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

"Investigations are ongoing into the situation, and the medical examiner is conducting an autopsy to verify the individual’s cause of death,” Council Member Julie Won said in a statement posted on Instagram. "My office will continue to follow up with local authorities and provide public updates as they become available."

An NYPD spokesman said there were no marks on the dead man’s body or anything that suggests criminality.

There have been no arrests and an investigation remains ongoing.
