NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man whose body was found in a plastic bag at an upper Manhattan apartment last week had reportedly been stabbed.
Police on Thursday identified the victim as 37-year-old Daniel Simons of Brooklyn. Earlier this week, they said his death had been deemed a homicide.
Simons' body was found inside a plastic bag in a sixth-floor apartment on St. Nicholas Avenue, near W. 148th Street, in Harlem last Friday afternoon.
Police sources told the Daily News that Simons went missing back on March 27 and that he had been stabbed in the chest.
The sources said the apartment's tenant is a 75-year-old drug user who had an "open-door policy" at the home and allowed other users to do drugs there.
Police said an investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been reported.
