NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man hurled racist remarks at an Asian-American NYPD officer during a protest in lower Manhattan earlier this month, police body camera footage shows.
The footage shows a man directing a racist rant toward the officer during a march in Greenwich Village on March 11, the New York Post reported.
“Suck a dog’s d---, p----. Then cook it and eat it in front of your mother,” the man can be heard saying to the officer.
The man then repeatedly says “soy sauce” to the officer in a “mocking accent,” the outlet reported.
Detectives’ Endowment Association President Paul DiGiacomo called the man's comments “disgusting and despicable,” but not at all surprising.”
“This is the sad reality that police have to deal with and feckless politicians have invited,” he told the outlet, adding that the officer “deserves high praise for his calm reaction.”
