Man in 'Scarface' shirt tries to rape girl, 13, on Manhattan's East Side: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for a man in an attempted rape of a 13-year-old girl on Manhattan’s East Side late last month.

The NYPD released a photo Friday of the suspect, who’s seen wearing a “Scarface” shirt and carrying a beverage in a bag.

The victim was walking alone in the area of East 29th Street and Third Avenue in Kips Bay at around 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, when she was attacked by the man, police said.

He attempted to sexually assault her, causing her to scream for help, according to police. He then fled northbound on Third Avenue.

She was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

The case is being investigated by the NYPD’s Special Victims Unit.
