NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 34-year-old man was indicted for a gunpoint assault and robbery in East Harlem last month, Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg, announced Friday.
Albert Brown was charged with predatory sexual assault, criminal sexual act, robbery, and sexual abuse for robbing and forcing a 24-year-old woman to perform oral sex on him, at gunpoint on a street in East Harlem.
It happened at approximately 6:30 a.m., on Nov. 1 as the victim was walking near East 117th Street between 3rd and Lexington Avenues.
According to court documents, wearing a sweatshirt and ski mask, Brown approached her and demanded that she turn over her belongings. He then took her cellphone then pulled out a gun from his pocket.
Brown tapped the gun against her abdomen and head and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene westbound on 118th Street.
He was arrested on Nov. 9, wearing the same clothes from the incident.
"Albert Brown allegedly preyed on a woman as she walked down the street when he used a firearm to rob her and coerce her into performing a sexual act," District Attorney Bragg said. "These allegations are deeply disturbing, and I thank the prosecutors and staff of our Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Bureau for working tirelessly to seek justice for survivors. We encourage anyone who believes they have been the victim of or witness to sexual violence to call 212-335-9373."
