NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 45-year-old man was indicted by the Manhattan D.A. Thursday for allegedly attacking three men with a pair of scissors over a 10-minute span in a series of unprovoked attacks in the West Village in July.
Hasson Victoria is charged with attempted assault, three counts of assault, two counts criminal possession of a weapon and three counts attempted assault.
According to court documents and statements made on the record, at approximately 9:20 a.m. on July 27, Victoria attempted to stab a 28-year-old man with a pair of scissors near Hudson and Charlton streets.
Approximately five minutes later, Victoria walked a few blocks away and repeatedly lunged at a 24-year-old man with the same pair of scissors, aiming at his chest.
The man was struck twice in his right arm, causing bleeding, officials said. Victoria then walked towards Bleecker Street and Eighth Avenue where he used the scissors to stab a 45-year-old man in the neck, causing bleeding.
Victoria was arrested a few minutes later on West 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue.
Officers recovered the scissors from his waistband.
"As alleged, Hasson Victoria lunged at three different men with a pair of scissors over the span of minutes — all during the morning rush hour — on public streets," D.A. Alvin Bragg said. "I want New Yorkers to know that we treat these violent attacks with the seriousness they deserve."
