Man, 34, is fatally gunned down in Harlem building lobby in brazen shooting

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 34-year-old man was fatally gunned down in the lobby of a Harlem public housing building early Thursday evening, police said.

The victim, identified as Christopher Jimenez, was shot at 5 p.m. inside 545 West 126 St., which is part of NYCHA's Manhattanville Houses.

Jimenez suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Morningside.

A friend of the Jimenez, Demetria Ramuesr, told the Daily News that he was a father of three. She said she found him shot on the floor and that he told her, “I’m dying,” as she held his hand.

“It’s going to be in my head forever,” she said. “I was the last person to see him alive.”

No arrests had been reported Friday.
