NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A man was killed and another critically injured in a shooting inside Tompkins Square Park Friday morning, authorities said.
The shooting happened shortly before 10 a.m. near East 7th Street in the East Village.
The victims, ages 74 and 44, were both shot in the back, authorities said.
They were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue where the 74-year-old man later died. The other man has life threatening injuries.

According to officials, at least one of the men was being uncooperative.
Police were seen canvassing the area and an investigation remains ongoing.
