NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was killed and his wife critically injured in a stabbing at their Brooklyn home on Thursday night, police said Friday as they arrested the couple's son-in-law.

Police charged 35-year-old Albert Torres with murder and attempted murder in the brutal attack on his in-laws. The circumstances surrounding the stabbing remain unclear.

The husband and wife, both 49 years old, were stabbed at their home at 1277 East 69th St. in Bergen Beach, according to police.

Police responding to a 911 call around 7:30 p.m. and found both victims with multiple stab wounds.

EMS rushed them to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where the husband was pronounced dead. He was identified as Juan Manuel Galicia.

His wife remained in critical condition on Friday.

Police initially said they were searching for Torres for questioning in the stabbing, and described him as a man in his 30s who was last seen leaving the scene in a Toyota SUV. He was wearing blue pants and a white hoodie, police said.

Neighbors called the stabbing “shocking” and said it “sounds like a horror movie.”

“It’s a quiet neighborhood,” one man said. “The most we see is a lot of cats.”
